BalletRox Dance (after-school program)

What is BalletRox Dance!'s After School Program?

BalletRox Dance! empowers Boston youth through affordable, professional dance classes to children in grades K-12, from September to May (30 weeks of classes), at Spontaneous Celebrations Community Center, located at 45 Danforth St, Jamaica Plain, MA.

This program is designed to make dance accessible to all Boston youth.

Classes are open to the community for a nominal, sliding scale fee; there is no pre-requisite or audition required. Tuition includes all dancewear and recital costumes at no additional charge. There are classes for ages 4 to 18, and all levels beginning to advanced.

At each level, students spend half their time studying ballet, and half their time on a variety of dance forms, including jazz, tap and hip hop. Each year students and their families participate in virtual and in person field trips to professional dance performances such as Alvin Ailey Dance Theater, Abilities Dance, and Swan Lake by the Bolshoi Ballet.

Dance classes are taught by BalletRox instructors with years of experience and identities who reflect our community.

For our older students, we have a Youth Council who have leadership opportunities such as creating choreography for recitals, grant-writing, moderating panels, serving on board committees and more to develop our youth for success.
